On Food Box Delivery Day, once you arrive at the Church, line vehicles in front of the church house on West 3rd street, in between the main doors to the church and the park.  We will come out to get you signed in and bring the food to your vehicle. Please stay in your vehicle at all times so we can keep the traffic line flowing.

Volunteer Opportunities:

“Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58

If your heart has been touched to help with the ministry of the VCC Community Cupboard you can do so in many different ways.

  • Unloading Food Delivery Van:  The food delivery from Midwest Food Bank comes once a month and is always the Thursday before the day of the Food Pantry (the dates of the pantry are listed above).  The delivery van typically arrives around 10:30 AM and we can always use an extra hand unloading and unpacking.

  • Food Box Preparation:  Typically, the Monday and Tuesday prior to food box distribution day, boxes and bags of food are prepared so that the delivery day can go smoothly.  Contact Dawn Dohner if you would like to donate your time in that way, as those hours vary month to month.

  • Food Donations:  You can donate non-expired food items during church office hours or contact Dawn Dohner to have them picked up.

  • Financial Donations:  Financial donations can be made directly to the Vermont Christian Church Community Cupboard.  Food such as meat, refrigerated items and certain hearty non-perishable items are not always available in mass quantities at the Midwest Food Bank.  Therefore, those items are purchased monthly, along with the basic restocking of the pantry and emergency help to those in need.

THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE HELPED KEEP THE VCC COMMUNITY CUPBOARD OPEN!  IT COULDN’T BE DONE WITHOUT VOLUNTEERS AND WE APPRECIATE EVERYONE WHO HAS HELPED IN THE LARGEST AND SMALLEST OF WAYS!

COVID-19 Response

**Updated April 1, 2021 **

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.”  1 Peter 4:10

There have been many changes to the pantry in the last year.  As much as we desire to serve as many people as we can, our resources are limited.  We will only be serving those in the VIT School District.

We are working to make sure we keep your health and safety a priority by continuing the drive-up food box distribution until further notice. We also desire to continue to serve you by providing basic food necessities during these difficult times.
